How We Care for Endodontic Emergencies

  1. Call Us Immediately: If you’re experiencing a toothache, cracked or damaged a tooth, or believe you have a failing crown, call our office as soon as possible. For our patients in pain, we aim to see you immediately, the same day you call.
  2. Receive an Examination: When you arrive, our team may take a cone beam CT scan of your face and mouth, and Dr. Segal will complete a thorough evaluation of the area causing your pain. Based on her findings, our team will provide you with a treatment plan and walk you through everything.
  3. Get Treated: After you agree to move forward with treatment, our team will schedule your procedure at a date in the near future and provide you with medication or tips to keep you comfortable in the meantime.

Understanding the Cost of Endodontic Emergencies

Every dental situation is different, which means there’s no set price tag associated with treatment. It will depend on a variety of factors, including the tooth that will need to be treated, sedation costs, and dental insurance coverage. Our team is happy to accommodate your financial needs through offering financing and submitting insurance claims on your behalf.

How to Avoid an Endodontic Emergency

The best way to avoid any type of dental emergency is to stay on top of your at-home and professional oral hygiene routines. This includes:

  • Brushing your teeth twice a day (using fluoride toothpaste) for at least two minutes.
  • Rinsing with antimicrobial mouthwash and flossing at least once a day.
  • Invest in a custom nightguard if you grind your teeth.
  • Avoid bad oral habits such as smoking and using tobacco products.
  • Don’t use your teeth as a tool to open products, like packages.
  • Stay hydrated with water over sugary beverages.
